This series consists of correspondence exchanged between the Superintendent of the Pierre Indian School and Federal Works Administration personnel and the South Dakota State Administrator for Emergency Relief and Civil Works. The correspondence consists of letters received, copies of letters sent, rules and regulations, circulars and instructions, and reports covering civil works activities at the Pierre Indian School and throughout South Dakota. Some personnel hired under civil works authority and many of the projects undertaken were absorbed by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works and the Emergency Conservation Work and later the Civilian Conservation Corps upon deactivation of the Federal Civil Works Administration.
